Adele made history by becoming the FIRST artist to win a Grammy for the best album of the year, best record of the year and best song of the year, TWICE. (She’s won a total of FIVE Grammy’s this year: she had five nominations and won five Grammy Awards!)

Chance the Rapper won a Grammy as the Best New Artist and for Best Rap Performance.

With that said, the most dramatic nine minutes of the 2017 Grammy Awards belonged to Beyoncé whose artistic powers were in no way diminished by her pregnancy with twins. Her powerful staging of “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” draws comparisons to Michael Jackson’s ground-breaking music videos. Beyoncé is a star: popular, accomplished and recognized. Thankfully, she isn’t done growing. She continues to develop the image of an all-powerful woman in her many incarnations empowering her female fans while at the same time transforming herself into a symbol. One can’t help but admire her royal pride and power. (While wondering what degree of vulnerability, the show of strength might be concealing or protecting….)
Beyoncé won Grammy Awards for “Lemonade” (Best Urban Contemporary Album) and for “Formation” (Best Music Video).
